Plaque Unveiling
Not a celebration, but a commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Grand Valley tornado. Local dignitaries gathered with residents to recall the devastation of the tornado, and how the community pulled together to help themselves and eachother recover from their loss. Many of the attendees were GV residents during the tornado, and had vivid memories to share. The event was highlighted by the unveiling of a plaque presented by the Grand Valley Historical Society and through money raised from the sale of the book "Tornado Town" written by Brock McKinney and Laura Lennox. A DVD will also be available for sale as a keepsake of the event.
